Excerpts from the book:
"Two outstanding personalities in the field of finding homes for dogs are Irene Castle McLaughlin in Chicago and Daisy Orr Miller in New York. Daisy Orr Miller was the founder of the Animal Protection Union and protested against kill shelters!"
Found in a newspaper from 1917:
"Ginger dwells in the Porter home. She is the best known dog in Nashville and occupies a distinctive position in dog circles. Ginger likes to have the house all to herself and her mistress. Though her bite is harmless she will snarl and show her teeth and many a visitor to the house will ask that she be locked up before they enter. Ginger is quite moody. She is so loved here at the Porter house!"
The booklet includes lots of pictures too, and a list of dog museums around the world. Some, here in the United States.
